Educational Opportunities has significantly shaped my professional journey. The organization became a lifeline to me as a first-generation college student, easing the challenges of higher education. The scholarship served as a financial anchor and enabled me to explore various pathways within business. In my search for a career that would allow me to serve others while satisfying my unyielding curiosity, I discovered auditing during my junior year and decided to fast-track a Master of Accounting with a concentration in Internal Audit.

However, during my master's and graduate internship, I noticed a void in my daily routine—a lack of creative expression. This, coupled with uncertainties from the COVID shutdown, prompted me to reevaluate my career choices and pushed me to seek deeper fulfillment.

This exploration led me to UX Design—it combined the analytical and social aspects I enjoyed in internal audit while introducing a creative dimension. Upon completing a UX bootcamp in March 2023, I actively sought opportunities to apply my newfound skills. Once again, Educational Opportunities provided me with a chance to grow, this time to work as a UX Designer on a web design project for the organization.

I'm deeply grateful for the opportunities and support Educational Opportunities has given me. Years after, the sense of community among alumni is a testament to the enduring impact of the organization. Giving back to this community is an honor. I look forward to contributing to its ongoing success and giving back in any way I can.
